(Neighborhood Visitation)

Neighbourhood Visitation is an outreach program initiative by Bless Community Services with the aim of building stronger connections with the residents of Serangoon North Ave 1 & 2and Hougang Ave 8 & 9.

Almost 200 BCS volunteers will visit residents from over 40 blocks in the neighbourhood  four times a year.

During each visit, our volunteers engage with residents, bearing meaningful gifts (practical and with sustainability messages) and sharing information about our programmes and services.

We also aim to befriend them and provide a listening ear for any concerns or issues they may have.

Our goal is to establish a bridge of communication and trust between the residents and Bless Community Services, promoting community building and solidarity.

Reaching out to the Neighbourhood

I volunteer with BCS because I believe in giving back to my community. I've been fortunate to receive many blessings in my life, and volunteering is my way of paying it forward and being a positive force in the lives of others. By volunteering, I have the opportunity to embody these values such as kindness, compassion and hope to others, and make a tangible difference in the lives of those around me.

I volunteer with BCS visitation to foster friendships and relationships. It's fulfilling to see the gratitude of those we visit, who appreciate our efforts in bringing them gifts door-todoor. Many recognize us from BCS and treat us with kindness, often sharing personal stories. These interactions remind me of the importance of community and the impact we can have through simple acts of kindness.
